"Atticus, when they finally saw him...he was real nice"

Image result for atticus he was real nice quoteThe quote that is in my title, is a very important analogy from scout. She was talking about both Stoner's Boy, and Arthur Radley. They both were seen as negative individuals. The people in the book, accused the Stoner's Boy of messing up the clubhouse, and throwing ink around, however they were too quick to judge, like we all are in today's society. We take one look at a person's appearance, and judge them. After we judge them, we either feel that they are intimidating, less than us,different, or anything else to separate them into society.  We all have done this before, including every person in Maycomb, except for Atticus. Atticus, is the person that we all want to be, selfless, tolerant to all, has high morals, and many more reasons as to why he is such an important person to look up to. He is everything. He has given us multiple ways that we should live our lives correctly. He teaches us real courage, in a different way than the movies and Television shows show a hero with true courage with a weapon. Atticus has true courage, because he went to the jail cell, where men came to kill Tom Robinson, and Atticus brought a weapon, now it wasn't a gun or a knife, but it was his words and his voice. He wanted to talk to the men as men. Another lesson is that we should and shall always look as people as equals. this is explained, when he tells Scout to walk in someone else's shoes and see the world through their eyes, to see the pain in their lives, and ow the people in Maycomb see them. In the end of the book, scout goes to the window at the Radley's house, and from there she can see everything. Meaning that Mr.Arthur Radley, can see everything, and that he has seen everything. He gave them so much. He gave them the blanket, the soaps, the broken watch, the ball of yarn, and their lives. Arthur was there for Jem and Scout when they needed them the most. And throughout the book, scout and Jem still believed the rumors and didn't give him anything in return for his gestures of friendship. Friendship, that's all that Arthur wanted. HE wanted to be seen as an equal, and unfortunately it took 374 pages for someone to see him as an equal. Image result for equality in TKAM

  1. This was a really good blog here, and I especially agree with your opinion here about Arthur wanting to be treated as an equal. I also agree with you about people judging others by their appearance too fast. and I liked how you put in Atticus' weapons being his true courage when the mob of men came to harm him. Great JOb!
