WOW... chapter six

In chapter six, a lot and I mean a lot of stuff happens. Before Dill leaves to go back to Mississippi, him, Scout, and Jem all spend one more night together. However it doesn't quit go the way the expected it to end. In the rest of the chapter that we had to read at home, we read about Scout, Dill, and  Jems run in at the Radley's place.
When they finally reach the Radley's house, they decide they will go through the back fence. It is a little after dark so no one can see them, but they have to make sure that they don't make that much noise. They sneak under the fencing in the back yard of the house. From there, Scout and Dill make a saddle, so they can lift Jem up to see into the window. As Jem looks through the window, he sees a light. Then he sees a shadow of a man, wearing a hat. The man then has a riffle in his hand. That id when they all start to run.
They hear a fire of the riffle, and run even faster. As they get to the fencing, Jem has trouble getting through it, so he takes off his pants, and finally gets out. When they get to the front of the Finches's house, they see a big crowd gathered in front of the Radley's house. There, they tell the people that the were by the fishing pound, and were playing with matches, and not cards, because cars are just completely wrong to be playing around with.                                                                                                                                                 That night, at two in the morning, Jem goes to sneak out to get is pants. This is extremely dangerous, because Mr. Radley said the next time he sees anything in his yard, the next shot won't be shot in the air as a warning shot. As Jem is gone, Atticus wakes up, but doesn't come to check on Scout and " Jem", like he usually does. When Jem comes back, he doesn't say a word. He gets in bed, and just lays there silently. As a reader, this tells me that something might have happened when he had gotten his pants. And we, or I am left on a cliffhanger.                                                                                             Image result for tkam meme

Things Jem, Dill, and Scout Do Right or Wrong?

From the beginning of the book to chapter 5, Dill, Jem, and Scout did many things making fun of Boo, or Arthur Radley. There are many rumor about Boo Radley and Jem, Dill, Scout are curious about Boo, they want to see Boo's face so they do many things to make Boo comes out. At first, these games are just normal, Dill dares Jem to touch Boo Radley house, but gradually, what Jem, Dill, Scout do becomes more than a normal game. They play a game call "Boo Radley" by reacting all the rumbles about Boo Radley, and they're doing it in the front yard so everyone can see them. Next, they want to pass a note for Boo, they want Boo to come out. They put the note on a fishing pole and dangle it to the window. In chapter 6, Jem, Dill, and Scout sneak over to the Radley Place and peeking through a loose shutter.
Every time when they doing something with Boo, Scout sees many mysterious things come from Boo Radley house. Scout advised people to stop this, but no one listened. For the first time, when Jem touches the house, Scout see a shutter moving in the house. For the second time, when Scout rolled up the step, she hears someone laughing. The third time is in chapter 6, not just Scout, Dill and Jem also see a shadow moving in Boo's house. Jem and Scout's father, Atticus also says that they can't do it, he want them to stop tormenting Boo.
For me, I think that Jem and Dill are wrong. The "Boo Radley" game is like an act of ridicule Boo, they shouldn't do it. Scout know that there is someone watching them so she already tell Jem and Dill to stop it but they don't listen so she have to go with them. I don't agree with what Jem, Dill, and Scout are doing because they can't make fun of people like that. Boo has his own life and the others can't do anything. People don't know what happened with Boo, they just listen to the rumor and then believe in it. What if Boo is a good person? We don't know, but no matter what, the actions of Jem, Dill, and Scout are wrong.

They almost got killed and I almost got hit the second time.

In Chapter Six, Dill was going back to Mississippi in the next morning so he wanted to see Boo Radley before he left. Dill and Jem had planned to go to Boo's house in midnight without Scout. They tried not to let anyone know about it including Atticus. Scout knew what happened and she joined them. They walked slowly to the Radley Place. They came to the gate Jem touched it and it squeaked. They were in the backyard of the house. Dill said to Jem and Scout lift him up so that he could see the inside of the house. They crouched and Dill sat on their saddle. He didn't see anything when he was looking through the window. Dill, then, said they should try the back window. When they went to the window, Scout saw a shadow and so did Dill. The shadow walked slowly and stopped about a foot beyond Jem. Scout stripped when she was about halfway through the collards. At the same time, the man shot the gun in the air. All three of them got scared and ran to the schoolyard as fast as they could. They didn't know the man who shot the gun was Mr. Radley-Boo's father. Mr. Radley thought it was a thief in his backyard and he didn't know Jem, Dill, and Scout were there. After the gunshot, everyone gathered in front of Boo's house to find what was happening. No one knew that Jem, Dill, and Scout were in the Radley Place.

I find this chapter is very interesting because it reminds the time when I was young. One time, I and my two cousins try to get something (I can't remember what it was) on the roof. It was not really a roof but that was not important. The important thing was all the wires were across that place. We paid all the attentions into our work that we didn't know my grandmother was coming. She took a hanger and hit us. It was really hurt and that day was one of the memorable day in my life. My grandmother said she would tell my mom about what I had done  but she forgot. If she did remember, I would get hit the second time. No one knew about what I and my cousins did that day except my grandmother but she didn't remember it from that day until now.

Chapter 6

Today we had to finish chapter six. This was one of the most intense chapters ever. Atticus told Jem, Scout, and Dill to leave Boo Radley alone, but they did not. They are just so obsessed with that guy. They were going to peak into there window and see if he was there. It just weird trying to spy on someones house. They were trying to check, but they saw nothing. They were coming back and they tried to be really quiet, but I guess that they were not quiet enough that they saw a shadow coming out of the house and someone started to shoot.  They went of running. When they came back everyone in the neighborhood was there wondering what just happen. Mr. Nathan Radley was standing in his porch. Jem said that they should go to see, because if they don't show up they will think that I will be funny for them. They went to see and they asked what happen. Miss. Stephanie said that Mr. Nathan tried to shoot a negro, but he scared him of, then he asked where is his pants on. He did not have pants on. They fell. Dill saved him and he said they were playing a game. When they all went home in the night, Scout was worried that in the morning Mr. Nathan will find out it was them, because is pants were there. Jem said he was going to go get them. If he did not Mr. Nathan Will come to Atticus and show him the pants, because he knows that Jem did not have pants. Then they will get in trouble

In my opinion they should haven't done that, because Atticus told them to leave Boo Radley alone. They will have consequences. People also want privacy and I can imagine what Boo goes trough. He gets annoyed every day by this kids. He sufferers to much he does not deserved this. He deserves a better life. When I was Mexico my uncle lived in a big house, so he had a lot of windows. When I was in his house in the dark I did not like it, because everything was so dark outside and you did not know what was outside. I got pretty scared sometimes. I felt like someone was watching me. I hated it, so that's why I was always with my grandma in her house. If I was in my uncles I did not know what will happen, because He had a second floor. In the second floor there was no one, and I hear noises I got scared and ran away to my grandmas house. In the night you could seen everyone mostly. I always covered myselve with my blanket because I was scared of people looking at me. We also had a fence, so people couldn't pass, but they could just open it.  There doors were different. They had a window and you could open it and people could see what were you doing. I just hated it, because I usually have a lot of privacy since I'm the only child.

Childhood Wonder

Jem, Scout, and Dill all decided to hang out late at night. Dill said he wanted to go down the block just for a walk. Scout was suspicious because nobody in Maycomb goes for walks. It turns out she had all the rights to be suspicious because Jem and Dill were actually planning on see Boo's face. They were going to look through the window. They checked through the front window and saw nothing. There were curtains blocking the way. They then decided to go through the back and look through another window. They saw a shadow of what seemed to be a man wearing a hat. Then, a shotgun was shot and the kids ran for their lives. They thought Boo was coming for them. They escaped and snuck into the crowd of worried neighbors. It turns out it was just Nathan Radley.
This part of the story reminds me a lot of the dumb things I would do when I was younger with my cousins. There would always be the leader, usually that would be me since I was the oldest. There would also be the one who was worried and kept telling the group it's dangerous. We did one thing we did wasn't super bad but we thought we were cool when we did it. We trespassed a small park that was closed. I went over the gate and played on the swings. It wasn't anything that was super bad but my youngest cousin was afraid we would get caught and yelled at. I didn't care. I was just having fun. The chapter really does remind me of these times. I thought this chapter was funny and was relatable Image result for kids running away gifs

That's Just Weird

When I was about nine and my brother seven, we had neighbors, a eleven year old girl named Emily, and a six year old boy named Lucas. They moved away about four years ago and I can still remember the fun times we had. We would always spy on random people around the neighborhood. This relates to my life because we didn't understand that it was weird to sneak up to a completely random person's house and take turns using those twisted upwards binocular things to watch people watch tv, do the dishes, eat dinner, whatever a normal family does.Image result for that's weird meme One day a neighbor, one I'm now close with but didn't know us at the time, saw us peeking in their house, and asked us to bring her to our parents. When we did they talked and it ended with her leaving, laughing and telling us we were welcome in her yard anytime. This is similar to Jem, Dill, and Scout because they didn't know that playing Boo Radley wasn't nice, the same way Quinn, Emily, Lucas, and I didn't know creeping on people wasn't nice.

Jem, Dill, and Scout are kids, therefore they do things kids do, obviously. At the beginning of summer Jem decides to start playing a game, Boo Radley. In this game they reenact the rumors of Boo Radley, and I stress the rumors part. A few of these rumors are that one day when he was scrapbooking he stabbed is father in the leg with the scissors, then causally wiped the blood off and continued on the dreaded scrapbooking. Another rumor is that he goes out at night to catch animals and eat them raw, and if he can, cats too. Because of this Jem has come up with a hypothesis on what Boo looks like. He says that Boo is, 6'5, he eats raw squirrels and cats, rotting teeth, bloodstained hands, and that he is a savage animal. The most important thing to know about this is that it is based off of rumors. After Dill heard of Boo he has wanted to see him, he sometimes stands by a pole by his house and watches to house in wonder. When they play Boo Radley they playit in the front for all to see, even Boo.

Jem and His Immature Behavior - Faraes Wubshet

Jem and Atticus I would assume have a lot more talking to do. Atticus uses a lawyer’s golden rule “Don’t ask a question you don’t already know the answer to. This is shown in chapter five. They had a idea to send a letter to Boo Radley using a fishing pole to his front door. Dill was supposed to surveillance the area, but didn’t do a good job. He finally rang the bell at the last moment. Atticus sees what their doing, and uses this trick on Jem. He asks Jem if he was messing with Boo Radley, giving him a way out, however he tries to lie, and midway he learns he fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book. Atticus told them to stop playing the game telling Jem doesn’t he want to be a lawyer. Once Atticus is far enough he yells out I use to want be a lawyer, but I’m not so sure showing disrespect.

I think Atticus did the right thing as a dad giving his son a way out even though he failed, and I think what Jem has been doing this entire chapter in lack of a better term has been dumb. However I don’t put all the blame on Jem. As a kid I would believe everyone has fell for this trick once or a lot( in my case). My story that relates to this, is that once I forgot to use soap while I was taking a shower. My mom asked if I used soap, I said yes knowing I didn’t, and she pulled out the soap from the back of her hand. She was really mad at me, but rationally explained what I did, and I shouldn’t lie like that again. That really thought my lesson, because I also got grounded. That is one of many stories that happened to me, but In my defence I was younger than ten at that time.

Jem, CONGRATULATIONS. You played your self.

This has all happened to us in our lifetime. A bunch of adults or even children have done this to us. Teachers, parents, grand parents. Jem, Scout, and Dill were playing Boo Radley. It was basically reenacting  the rumors they had heard about him. Everyone can see what they're doing because they are in the front yard. People can see it, even Boo Radley him self can. Atticus caught them outside playing this game. Jem lies to Atticus saying they weren't doing anything. Atticus knows exactly what they're doing. He lets that one pass to see if he would fuss up the next time and not lie again to get into deeper trouble. Well, Jem played him self. When Atticus caught Jem bugging Boo Radley again, he asked what was going on. Scout knew exactly what was going on. This has happened to me before. I kept forgetting to do my chores I really did think that I did my chores, but I didn't. My parents knew I didn't do my chores and they got mad at me.

In chapter five, a few things go down. The one big things that I have to talk about in this blog is about Jem, Scout, and Dill. They tried to get Boo Radley to come out of the yard. they did that by putting a note on a fishing pole and putting it on the window to Boo Radley's house. Instead of knocking on the door, they did that because they were scared of Boo Radley. They didn't know if Boo Radley would come out screaming and trying to eat them or not. I disagree with the plan they had set out. They had Dill be on patrol, he had a bill and he was supposed to ring it if Boo Radley, Atticus, or just trouble was coming so they could run. Dill didn't do his part. I feel bad for Dill. If I was Dill I wouldn't be ringing that bell. I wouldn't even ring the bell. I would just run without telling anyone.

TKAM Part 2

In chapter 5 Scout Jem and Dill right Boo Radley a note. the note says that They want me to come outside so they can come and talk to him and see why he's acting all this way. They take the note and stick it to a fishing pole. They will put that note and try to hang it out the window. Jem will be the one who will stick it through blue Radley's window, Scout will be the one who tells Jem that if anyone is coming, finally Dill will be the one to tell Scout to tell Jem that someone is coming. Jem tries to put the note through the window but while this is happening he hears the Bell. Dill was supposed to ring it when someone was far enough away so that they can't hear the Bell. however deal instead of doing that he rang the bell right when Atticus was right in his face. Imagine This, Dill is waving Cabela in front of attitudes his face. That is obviously a red flag. They are doing something wrong. Atticus tells them that what they are doing is wrong and that if Boo Radley make these choices than it is his decision they have no right to make him come out. After Atticus walks away  end is out of hearing View gem yells  that he does not want to be a lawyer as he used to be.

this kind of reminded me when I was babysitting a child. one time I caught them picking at the couch picking holes in it. I knew what they were doing it all wrong sweat so I walked to him and then right when I was in his eye view he put his finger out right away.   I asked him what he was doing and he said nothing and then I looked at the couch and there was a tiny hole. I asked him how did that get there and he said I don't know. And then I told him if I catch you doing that again  she will be in big trouble. After I walked away I heard him Mumble something under his mouth.

Mind your own business

In chapter five, Scout, Jem, and Dill make up a plan to make Boo Radley come out of his house. I myself was very inclined to see what would happen if Boo saw the note. The kids decide to send it to him through his window and Jem would sound the alarm if anyone was coming. The bell rang and the kids panicked. Unfortunately, Atticus found out about the whole thing. Dill, obviously, didn't ring the bell early enough to give the right amount of time for the kids to run away. Atticus took the note and chastised the kids for doing this. He tell them to mind their own business and not to worry about Boo.
This made me both sad and happy. I was looking forward to seeing if Boo would come out or no, but Atticus sort of ruined it. I am happy because now Boo can be in more peace. I like the way Atticus teaches the kids about minding your own business and I hope that Dill, Jem, and Scout learn to keep their noses out of things they shouldn't be involved in. I hope that I can be more like Atticus. In the chapter, Atticus is complemented on his high moral standards. He acts the same no matter where he is or who he is with. I want to achieve that level of standards one day, and really who wouldn't?

Atticus In the House

Image result for making fun of someone meme

I just want to appreciate how smart Atticus is. He knew everything that Jem, Scout, and Dill were doing. He knew that they were making fun of Boo. He just plain old knew. He is like that parent that almost has secret cameras everywhere and watching you constantly. Atticus knew when he saw them with the scissors. He just wanted to give Jem the chance to confess to him and accept the consequences. We almost wish that he had been guilted enough into confessing. I have a feeling that a time is going to come that the game they were playing is going to come back to haunt them.
When Atticus finds them trying to leave them the note, Atticus uses a trick on Jem. A trick that Jem should have known because he wants to be a lawyer. Atticus uses the Lawyer Golden Rule which means that Atticus doesn't ask any questions that he doesn't know the answer to. He knows that they were playing "Boo Radley." I am guessing that Jem and Scout are probably going to get grounded. I think that they may not be able to go see Dill a whole lot. We can know for sure that they aren't allowed to play "Boo Radley" anymore, and we can assume that they won't disobey Atticus.

Its not a Time Traveling Alligator

Chapter four of to kill a mocking bird was a mysterious one. Scout finds some gum in a knothole outside the Radley place. At first Scout and Jem think that it might be an adults hiding place, but they soon disregard that idea because they believe that only a child would have a hiding place for their things. They eventually find a ring case with two pennies from the early 1900s. . This is mysterious as we don't know who the person who keeps leaving stuff in the knothole is. Who could it be? Boo radley himself trying to lure the children in so that he can eat them for dinner. A squirrel just collecting shiny and mysterious things and shoving them into a knothole. Could it be a time traveling alligator stuck in the void that is the great depression. Maybe he like chewing gum with all his teeth and the pennies are the key to him escaping the void and returning to his home world. I can say with certainty that it is not an alligator, but most likely is Boo. I think that boo is putting gifts in that knothole for Scout and Jem. Boo probably saw that Jem and Scout were brave enough to come by his house so he rewarded them. He could also be putting visible things in the knothole because he wants to see how the children react to the gifts that he gives them. If you base the theory on the rumors about boo then he is probably trying to lure them in. He is trying to take them in and end them like the psychopath that he is. However, my biggest theory is that the knothole and its contents have some connection to boo and his real life. Through the objects and Jem and Scout finding them we will eventually see boo and find out who he truly is.

Who is the Gum and Penny Man?

Today in class, we read part of chapter four, and something weird happened. One day, Scout was walking home from school, and she went past the Radley house. Inside the knothole of a tree in the front yard of the Radley house, Scout found two sticks of gum. She was intrigued by them, so she licked them to see if they were poisoned, which they were not. After concluding that, she stuffed them into her mouth until later when Jem forced her to spit them out. On the last day of school, Scout and Jem found a box in the knothole. They took the box and opened it. Inside, they found two pennies from the the 1900s. Jem ad Scout are now wondering who owns this. They think that it must be an a child because they think adults don't have hiding spots.

There could be many different people who are placing the gum and the box, but I have a few possibilities. First, it could be a random child that has been placing their belongings in the Radley tree. This seems kinda mean that Scout and Jem would happen to be stealing a kid's possessions, but I doubt a random child being the culprit. Second, it could be an animal like a squirrel. After watching some PBS as a child, I learned that squirrels are attracted to shiny objects. Knowing this, it could be a squirrel that finds shiny objects like gum and pennies, but this is something that I think would be too boring for a book. Third, it could be Boo Radley. This is most likely in my opinion, but I do not know why Boo would do this. My predictions are that he is lonely and wants attention from Scout and Jem, or he is just a weird due who likes putting his things in trees. Most likely, the first reason.

We won't know who the gum and penny man is, but we will find out eventually.Image result for who did it gif

To whom does it belong...

Well we started To Kill a Mockingbird like a week ago, and we are already on the 4th chapter. We got to know the characters. My favorite is Scout, but lately she has been getting into trouble. She is on the wrong foot with Miss Caroline, and she has been Ignorant towards some of her classmates. Scout has also been curious lately.

Boo Radely her creepy neighbor has been watching them, or so we think. Scout claims she sea a flick in the shutters when Jem touched the house. Also some one has been hiding stuff. In the tree near there house. Whom is hiding it we must find out. I personal think Boo is hiding it. He is the sort of person who is probly lonely, and wants to play tricks on people.

He might also be the person who wants others to feel his pain, and so he plays tricks on them. We never know. Like Atticus says, walk in someone else's shoes, and see through their perspective. We don't know whose gum, and money it is.

I find it funny that two cents is alot of money for them. My sister read Little House On a Prarie, and for Christmas, one of the children received a penny, and they were so excited, and they felt rich. Today a penny can buy you buy a cheap ponytail. Back then you could buy a meal, or a toy. Back then kids were receiving a quarter for a present. Today kids are receiving phones, and expensive products for presents.

In conclusion, don't judge people before you get to know them, and don't take everything you get for granted someone put money into that. I think the stuff Scout and Jem found were from Boo, but you may think differently. I am excited to read more tommarow.

Chapter 3 summary

After Walter, got the molasses, Scout, made a very rude comment saying ¨what in Sam hill are you doing¨. Caledonia, heard this comment, and brought scout into the kitchen. In the kitchen, Calpernia, told scout that she was to treat her guest with complete respect, and not to judge him, because of his background. If scout was not going to be nice, Calpernia told her that she was to eat in the kitchen. However, Scout wanted to eat in the kitchen, and told Calpernia that, she also told Calpernia that she is the reason she got in trouble, because she taught her how to write. When Calpernia heard that, she got so mad, she slapped Scout. After they had dinner, Jem and Walter, left leaving Scout, because she was going to talk to Atticus about firing Calpernia. Atticus said that he never would, and that Scout needed to learn how to respect Calpernia.

Back at school, Miss Caroline was standing on her desk screaming. Scout thought that Miss Caroline was scared of a mouse. Two boys, Little Chuck Little and DC. She was frighted because a boy, Burris Ewell, had lice, According to her, he was the dirties human that she has ever seen. She then told him to go home and get cleaned, so that the other kids would get lice. Burris then sates that he was going to eave anyway and wasn't coming back. According to the other students, the Ewell's, only came to the first day of school, and would never show up again. Burris has only been to school a total amount of three days, and had repeated the first grade three times, but thinks he should move on to the second grade. However when Miss Caroline tried to get Burris to stay, a student said hat she should just let him go because he is so mean. Little Chuck little, told Burris that if he were to start something, he would kill him. Burris was actually threaded, even tho Chuck was half his size. As Burris left the room, he called Miss Caroline a s***, then waited until she started crying before he left the class.
As scout walked home, she thought about how miserable it would be if she couldn't read or write for the rest of the year, so she wants to run away. After super, scout went outside instead of reading with Atticus. When Atticus came outside, scout began to cry, then she told her father about her day and how miss Caroline told her not tot read or write. Scout stated that she wanted to skip the est of the year, just like Burris has done.Atticus then gives Scout the very important lesson of putting yourself in others shoes. When she does this, she realizes that Miss Caroline had a very hard first day as well, and that she probably made Walter very embarrassed.  Atticus then tells scout how the Ewell family is the shame of Maycomb county and that they haven't done a honest day of work their whole life. In the end scout and Atticus make a deal. They will still read and write together, but they won't tell Miss Caroline.

Scout and Walter

In class today, we learn that Scout met someone new, Walter Cunningham, who is a really poor kid. His parents own a farm but they still seem to be poor. To make matters worse, the stock market crashed and it made everything a struggle for them. Walter doesn’t even own a pair of shoes which causes him to have ringworms all over his foot. In the morning class, miss caroline found out that scout was able to read so she told her to tell Atticus to stop teaching her so that she could “undo the damage”. When it was time for the kids who live in Maycomb to go home and get their dinner, Walter had nowhere else to go since he had no money to eat somewhere. Miss Caroline gave him a quarter to go somewhere and get a meal but then she said to pay him back. Walter refused to take the quarter because he wasn’t able to pay her back if he took it and she took it kind of rude. Scout decided to stand up for him because Miss Caroline really had no much of a reason to be mad at Walter over a quarter. Scout ended up also getting in trouble and sent to the corner by miss Caroline with a ruler being tapped onto her hand as she was being humiliated in front of the whole class. When it was time for them to go out for recess, Scout beat up and shoved his face into the dirt Walter because he basically got her in trouble just because she was trying to help him. Jem came by to stop her as Walter was standing back so that he would be able to defend himself in case Jem were going to jump on him too. Jem ended up inviting Walter over for dinner and when they got home, Scout told Atticus to fire Calpurnia but he said he would never do that. When they all came back, Scout came into the classroom seeing miss Caroline standing on top of her desk because she saw that one of the students had lice so she told them to go home and take a shower. Another kid named Burris began to swear and cuss at miss caroline then left the classroom so that he wasn’t going to come back for the rest of the school year. This made miss caroline cry and all the student had to comfort her. When scout was walking back home, she was hoping that everyday of the rest of the school year would be like the first day. When she got home, Calpurnia kissed her and made her her favorite sandwich which was “not normal” for her. Calpurnia also noticed that scout was acting pretty down that day and when Atticus asked her what was wrong, she began to cry and tell him that miss Caroline told her that she was prohibited to read or write but she didn’t want to. Atticus told her that he would read to her and Jem every night so that she could practice more but he told her not to tell miss caroline because it could involve him into things. That night, Atticus read them a story of a man who sat on a flagpole for no reason. The next day, Jem went to his treehouse just like that man from the book until sunset.

I used to be like Scout at school!!!!

In chapter two, there is an important part that I want to write about. That part is when Miss Caroline patted Scout's hands with a ruler and told her to stand in the corner twice in one day. The first time, Scout, maybe, did something wrong to Miss Caroline that she thought was disrespectful and Scout should be punished. However, in the second time, Scout just wanted to explain to her that the Cunninghams were poor and Walter won't take her money. Miss Caroline thought Scout was being rude and disrespectful. She humiliated and embarrassed Scout. Although Scout was literate since she was young but she was only...six so, of course, she acted like a six year old kid. Miss Caroline should have thought that that was Scout's first day of school, and she should have forgiven Scout. Also, that day was  Miss Caroline's first day of school so she should have made some good impressions to her students. I understand that she didn't get used to them right away one the first day; she didn't know who was who but for me. Beside, she wanted to show an example to the class.

Nevertheless, in my opinion, I think her punishment was a little bit strong. I know the feeling when you have to stand in front of the class and be patted by teacher. That's really embarrassed us. I remember when I was in elementary school, my teacher did that to me and my classmates frequently. If she caught someone was talking during class or someone didn't turn in his/her homework, she would do what Miss Caroline did to Scout. However, more than that, she didn't patt our hands but hit really hard. Embarrassment, sadness, and hurt all come at one time. Today, 2017, most of the teachers in elementary school or even in middle school in my country still use this way to teach their students.

I feel sad for them and want to make it won't happen in the future. One of my dreams is to change the education system in my country and change the way teachers teaching their students. I think that teachers must not punish their kids that way. As a teacher, they should love their kids, teach them how to behave well without hurting them.

Does Miss Caroline's Teaching Method Correct?

What we have read today is about Scout and her first day at school. As we all know, Scout lives in a tired, old town in Alabama, one of the Deep South, during the Great Depression so the education is kind of low. Most of the people live here is poor, uneducated. There are no kindergartens in the city so every student will learn the alphabet in first grade. In Scout's class, almost everyone not pass the class last year, it means that students don't usually go to school, they have to stay at home and help their parents. Because of that, almost all students in Scout's class know what is the alphabet and how to read it. For a new student like Scout, know how to read the alphabet is very good. Normally, teachers will praise Scout because they have a smart student in class but Miss Caroline is different, by somehow, she doesn't like it.
When Miss Caroline knows that Scout know how to read, she says Scout to tell her father not to teach her any more, it would interfere with her reading. Scout says that she knows how to read when she was young, no one taught her, it just came to her. Miss Caroline thinks that it's just a joke, she says that Scout's father doesn't know how to teach. Jem says that Miss Caroline will try a new way she learned in college to teach everyone, it's the Dewey Decimal System." Scout doesn't like the new way very much, she feels bored and begins a letter to Dill. Miss Caroline sees Scout writing and tells Scout to tell her father to stop teaching her.
For me, know how to read is very good. during the Great Depression, many children don't have change to go to school so that they don't know how to read and write. The way Miss Caroline teaches the students is not right, she can't just make everyone listen to her. Teacher is a person that always care about students, always cheering, encouraging students. If I am Miss Caroline, I will praise Scout that she is a good, smart student. I also can help her to understand more about what she does not know.

TKAM and The Power of Relatability in a Story

So far, To Kill a Mockingbird is very relatable and charming! The Finch kids are very humorous in the way the act. This book is also touches on things that can be relatable. For example, the stress of being a teacher. Although this doesn't apply to my situations in life, it clearly does for others. I can see how it would be extremely frustrating when having to work with children, especially kids from preschool to fifth. When kids are in middle school, they feel more responsible and try to act responsible. Even though kids don't always act like saints in middle school, they behave better than when they're children who aren't potty trained. At the end of the chapter when Miss Caroline put her head in between her arms on the desk, you can tell she already regrets working with kids. She realized that it would not be easy to work with children. Another example of this book being relatable is Walter Cunningham who those in poverty can relate to. Especially those who know that they can't pay people back so they don't take from others. When he didn't take the quarter from Miss Caroline, she was confused. She was not aware that he was too proud of himself to not take quarter because he knows this will put him in debt because he can't repay it.
Walter is a part of the Cunningham family, a family who was in the area where the stock market crash hit the most. They live in an extremely small town called Old Sarum They are so poor, Walter isn't even able to afford shoes. This leads Scout to believe he has hookworms. The Cunninghams are not able to buy food their son when it's time for him to eat dinner. The family may be poor, but they are extremely proud of themselves. They do not take up something they cannot payback. Walter would rather starve than take the quarter offered to him by Miss Caroline. He knew he could not pay her back.
There was one part of the book when Scout is talking to her brother Jem about what happened in class. She says that Miss Caroline isn't good at teaching and got mad at Scout for learning how to read at a young age. Jem then makes a clever and witty remark that only people with high IQ's can understand. He explains to the young, uneducated female that Miss Caroline is simply teaching a new way that the whole school is teaching. He says it is called the Dewey Decimal System. I myself found this to be quite humorous and I tried very hard to not laugh in class. That was why no laughter was heard in class. I am not just saying this to be on Mr.  Boyle's side, of course not, that is just preposterous, indeed?Image result for laughing gif

Who is Burris Ewell

Today in class we finished chapter 2. We also started reading chapter 3. There were a lot of interesting stuff. We met a new character in then book. His name is  Burris Edwell. Scout describe Burris as one of the filthiest human. His neck was dark gray. The back of his hands were rusty, his fingernails nails were black deep. When everyone got home from lunch Miss. Caroline started screaming. She saw a kid having animals in his head. It had cooties. It was Burris  Edwell who did. He did not really have cooties they were lice in his hair. Miss Caroline then asked him whats his name he told her, then Miss Caroline said he should be excuse for the rest of the afternoon. She wants Burris to go wash his hair. She took a paper and wrote that he is going to home, so everyone can know about it. Miss Caroline kept telling him that he should go home to take a good shower and use soap. She said when he was done he should treat his hair with kerosene. Burris asked why and she said to get rid of the cooties(lice). Miss Caroline did not want the other children to catch them. Miss Caroline also told him take a bath before he comes to school the next day, but them Burris started laughing rudely. He said, "You ain't sendin' me home, missus. I was on the verge of leavin'-I done done my time for this year". Miss Caroline was confused and asked him what did he mean. Burris did not answer. Until someone answer for him.One of the classmates said, "He's one of the Edwells". She was still a little confused until the classmate said that they come the first day of school and never come back. They do this every year. This was Burris fourth year. They say the truant lady gets them here, because they make them, and she also threatens them them with the sheriff.  They are supposed to be mark absent because they don't come the whole year. Miss Caroline said about there parents. The student said they don't have a mother. After that Miss Caroline told Burris to sit down. Miss Caroline did a big mistake, because that made him mad. He said, "You try and make me, missus". Miss Caroline got mad and told him to go home if no he will tell the principle. He went home, but before he went home he said some really mean things to the teacher. Burris waited for Miss. Caroline to cry and then left. That was really means of Burris he should off never done that and he should have respect to the teacher. I will never do that to the teacher, because my parents showed me how to respect.

Ignorance EVERYWHERE

Already in the first chapter in the book and there is ignorance. I don't agree with ignorance. Assuming things about someone before you actually meet them is a pretty bad thing to do. Boo Radley looks like a ghost because of the rumors. I wouldn't lie, he sounds a little scary from the rumors, but I don't really believe them until they have solid evidence that it happened. Boo Radley' real name is Arthur. Jem and Scout call him "Boo" because he is scary. They have never seen his face, he doesn't know what he looks like at all. They have rumors about Boo Radley doing things that he probably hasn't done.
He has some history of being a weird person. There is a story about Boo Radley stabbing his dad in the leg with some scissors when he was walking by, took the scissors out and cleaned it off his shirt. He was cutting out things on a newspaper. I don't think I like Boo Radley because of the rumors. Obviously I know not to assume things about people if you haven't even met the person. Miss Stephanie woke up to him watching her through her window. I know that feeling when someone makes rumors, or gossips about you when you know the rumors aren't true. It isn't cool at all. Obviously everyone knows about Boo Radley because Maycomb is a small town. But these days, we have social media. So if something bad happens, for example someone on the football team breaks their leg in the NFL, its gonna be everywhere especially if the NFL player is well known.

Is Boo just misunderstood, or is he a true savage beast?

In the first chapter of TKAM we first hear about a character named "Boo" Radley. In the chapter we learn the children have never see boo but there are a lot of rumors about him, so they believe them. One of the rumors is when boo had been scrapbooking when his dad walked by. When his dad walked by he drove the scissors into his father's leg, then pulled them out, wiped the blood off on his pants and got straight back to scrapbooking. Another rumor is that Boo only comes out of the house at night were he kills and eats raw squirrels, and cats if he can catch them. Also when he is out he watches his neighbors sleep though their windows. Some people call him a malevolent phantom because he is thought to be evil and no one ever sees him.
Jem has come to the conclusion that, from the rumors, of what boo looks like. He believes that he is 6 and a half feet tall, he eats raw squirrels and cats which causes his blood stained fingers, and has rotting teeth. In other words to Jem he is a monster, and a savage animal, this shows major ignorance on Jem's part. Especially when his information has come from gossip, which we know is not usually true. But it is for sure that he was once in with the wrong crowd so these rumors could be true. Image result for misunderstood memes

Reading Too Fast? - Faraes Wubshet

Today we learn a lot more about Scout in this chapter. We learn that she is going into first grade. We also learn about her new teacher who used to live In Northern Alabama, who came down into Maycomb to teach. A fact I learned in this chapter I found interesting is that They said Alabama seceded from the Union on January 11. The reason this popped out to me, is because my cousin's birthday is on that exact day, Just one hundred forty-two years later. Back on topic their teacher Miss Caroline is mean to Scout. She seemed really mean to Scout since she already known how to read. Scout learned how to read, by just reading in the newspaper, and it just came to her. Miss Caroline was really mean to her since she knew how to read, which I thought was wrong.

I have a story of this happening to me when I was in third grade. I was reading a science book, and learned one of Albert Einstein's theories. I told my teacher this, and thought they would be impressed. However my teacher was mad, and thought I was getting ahead of my science book. I guess my teacher had some reason to be mad. That’s how I thought it related to my chapter. I feel sad for Scout and what has happened with her and her teacher. I believe that she she should be rewarded for knowing the alphabet instead of having the teacher dislike her for that reason. To me that's the opposite of what a teacher should do. I would believe if I hadn’t know Miss Caroline’s expression that she would be happy someone in the class knew the alphabeat. If I was a teacher I would encourage her to taking a bigger leap. However most teachers aren’t like Miss Caroline in 2017, and would be happy what their students are accomplishing, and that there ahead of the game.

TKAM - Saul

What we learn in this chapter is We learned a new character in this book. His name is Boo Radley. No one has ever seen his face.  however, people have theories on what he looks like. There's a ton of rumors on what he looks like. There is a lot of gossip on what his past was like. Supposedly he stopped his father with scissors and also stocked people while they are asleep.  Jim thinks he is 6´ 2 feet tall. he has rotting teeth. he has bloody hands. the reason has bloody hands is because his meals are only Cats. Hover I don't think that this is true. I know he might seem a very mysterious guy but maybe he must be an introvert. he does not really like to be around other people.  or maybe he does not want to go out because of all the gossip and what people think of him. And that's why he does not want to go out because everyone is gossiping about her. Boo Radley kind of reminds me of my Dad's friend that he used to know.  my dad's friend did not really want to go out as much. he did not really want to go out and do work she just went to work went home and just stays there for  the whole day.
Scout is starting her first day of school.  Jem tells her that during recess or lunch or anything where in the school campus he does not want her to talk to him.  I don't think he does not want to talk to him is because she might embarrass him in front of his friends.  she might say something that might be pretty embarrassing and all of his friends will laugh.  also in Scouts classroom almost all the children are repeating the grade. this is probably their second or three to four times that they are repeating.  This shows that the people in Alabama make them don't really have time for school.  there school is like a break. when they come home all they do is work.  they work, they go to school, they come back, they work, and go to sleep.  that's why the kids are repeating because they don't have time for homework or a learning and all that. this relates to my life because when my mom was little she couldn't really go to school. they did so she cannot go to school. she only went to only like second grade. she only learn how to read and write and that's it.. she did not have money for the school so they did not send it to her.

Chisme=Gossip

CHISME?

Boo Radley is a character in our book that is feared. There is a ton of gossip and rumors about him that may or may not be true about him. He is rarely ever seen and is rarely out of the house. I can sometimes relate to this. Back in sixth and fifth grade, I used to almost never go out of the house. I played video games all day. I stopped after realizing that doing so would affect my grades. We still have no idea why Boo is always in his house. I am very excited to find out why.
One of the rumors about him was that he stabbed his dad with a pair of scissors on purpose while he was making a scrap book. After stabbing him, he wiped the blood off of the scissors with his pants and continued his project. Personally, I don think he would do something that bad. Especially since we're given hints that Boo might not be so bad. Another rumor about him is that he eats squirrels and cats raw. Again, this is a bit too farfetched for me to believe. Nobody would do such a thing in real life. The people of Maycomb are just making this stuff up from the top of their heads, in my opinion.
Image result for chisme memeI can't really relate to this because I have never heard any rumors about me, nor have I spread any rumors, thankfully. But, it looks like Jem is trying to spread a rumor of his own. He starts jumping to conclusions pretty fast here. Jem is already making assumptions on how Boo looks like based on his footprints. He says he has rotting teeth, 6.5 feet tall, blood-stained hands. He is comparing Boo to a savage animal. I have never experienced this or witnessed this kind of ignorance.

Goodbye Mockingbird and One Last Conspiracy Theory
