CONSPIRACY THEORY: TOM DID NOT DO IT
The beginning of this chapter starts off with Mayella being called up as a witness, after Bob Ewell had just gone up. She was firstly asked what she was doing on the day "it" happened. She didn't really answer the question, but judge taylor told her to answer it. Then he asked how old she was, and she said she was nineteen and a half. According to Mayella, she said she asked tom to help her out with chopping the dresser for a nickel. She went inside to get the coin, and that is when Tom attacked and raped Mayella. It was Atticus' turn to question Mayella and he asked her about her age, how many siblings she has, and how many years of education she had. Scout realized that Atticus was trying to ask Mayella about her life so that he could show the juries what type of family the Ewells were. Atticus then asked how her relationship was with Bob. She said they they do get along and then she began to stutter and had the face if she had done something bad. He asked Mayella if Bob had ever beaten her when he was drunk, she hesitated and said that he hasn't. Then he asked if this was the first time she had asked Tom to help her with something, and she had a look of guilt again. but said yes. After a couple of basic questions, Atticus began asking some serious questions such as if Tom had hit her on the head, and then she began to cry. She was asked to describe her rapist and she stood up and pointed at Tom, which had caused everyone to gasp. Tom was handicapped on his right arm and it was basically a useless arm to him. After a ten minute break had been set, the judge asked for any more witnesses and Atticus says that he has one, which is where the chapter ended with a cliffhanger. I think that Bob is the one who beat Mayella and even raped her since Tom is handicapped and could have been easily taken down. Mayella was described by scout as a pretty tough looking girl, which made me think that Tom is most likely not the one who did it since he kinda has one hand. When Mayella kept hesitating and looking as if she did something wrong, it made me believe even more that Bob is probably the one who did it and is forcing her not to tell. I also THINK that Atticus is probably going to bring someone that we already know and who is close to Tom as another last witness.

Gabby, I really liked how you made your blog post a conspiracy theory. I also liked how you gave a bunch of specific details from the trial, and how it was really thorough is showing ho wit couldn't have been Tom.
