She goes to her room and slams the door behind her. Uncle Jack comes in and she says that it was unfair how they got mad at her but she didn't even get to tell her side of the story. Jack asks about her side of the story and she tells him about what Francis said. Jack says he's going to talk to aunt Alexandra. She says to not tell her father what she fought for because of the talk the two had last week.
I personally dislike Francis. I am pretty sure that everyone else who read this chapter can agree that he was rude and unpleasant. I thought that he was very mean to Atticus. I wanted to go into the book and beat up Francis myself. This kid angered me in real life. I am honestly very surprised that this book was able to do this to me. This chapter was really funny and I enjoyed it up until we meet Francis.
I agreed with your rant about Francis. I can tell here that don't really like francis by the name of your title. You had a pretty descriptive summary about the big moments that had happened in this chapter. you had also had good information too. Great summary
ReplyDeletePablo I really liked the post. However, I get that you dislike francis, but I think he is that way because he has a dysfunctional family. He is every holiday just dumped into aunt alexandra's house so that his parents have a break. Francis probably tries to get attention by being annoying. He also may be racist but we have to realise that he doesn't know any different the real question is will he change.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good point. However, he still deserved the beating given to him by Scout.
DeleteI agree with you hear. I would gladly jump in the book with you. Let us give little Francis a piece of our mind. I also agree that he was very mean to Atticus. Francis had no right to say that Atticus was ruining the family. Atticus is just defending an African American because it is the right thing to do. He doesn't need anyone's approval, and I dislike how people think that he does. I think that Francis is hearing all these things through his grandma. Aunt Alexandra only cares about her reputation, so when one of her family members is doing what Atticus is doing, she takes it as a shot towards her own reputation. I think that Atticus is right for what he is doing, and he shouldn't worry what his sister says. I liked your blog post. I felt it was very well written.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your rant about Francis and how you gave every detail about him. I think anybody who read this chapter could agree that Francis is annoying. You made an accurate description of Scout beating up Francis. Trust me, everybody is going to want to jump in the book and beat up Francis, but calm down a little bit. He is eight after all.
ReplyDeleteFrancis isn't my favorite character at all. The things he says isn't nice at all, and he deserve that punch in the face. I agree that he was being mean to Atticus, and Scout.Uncle Jack kind of took the wrong step not hearing her side of the story and just punished her.
