Who is Burris Ewell

Today in class we finished chapter 2. We also started reading chapter 3. There were a lot of interesting stuff. We met a new character in then book. His name is  Burris Edwell. Scout describe Burris as one of the filthiest human. His neck was dark gray. The back of his hands were rusty, his fingernails nails were black deep. When everyone got home from lunch Miss. Caroline started screaming. She saw a kid having animals in his head. It had cooties. It was Burris  Edwell who did. He did not really have cooties they were lice in his hair. Miss Caroline then asked him whats his name he told her, then Miss Caroline said he should be excuse for the rest of the afternoon. She wants Burris to go wash his hair. She took a paper and wrote that he is going to home, so everyone can know about it. Miss Caroline kept telling him that he should go home to take a good shower and use soap. She said when he was done he should treat his hair with kerosene. Burris asked why and she said to get rid of the cooties(lice). Miss Caroline did not want the other children to catch them. Miss Caroline also told him take a bath before he comes to school the next day, but them Burris started laughing rudely. He said, "You ain't sendin' me home, missus. I was on the verge of leavin'-I done done my time for this year". Miss Caroline was confused and asked him what did he mean. Burris did not answer. Until someone answer for him.One of the classmates said, "He's one of the Edwells". She was still a little confused until the classmate said that they come the first day of school and never come back. They do this every year. This was Burris fourth year. They say the truant lady gets them here, because they make them, and she also threatens them them with the sheriff.  They are supposed to be mark absent because they don't come the whole year. Miss Caroline said about there parents. The student said they don't have a mother. After that Miss Caroline told Burris to sit down. Miss Caroline did a big mistake, because that made him mad. He said, "You try and make me, missus". Miss Caroline got mad and told him to go home if no he will tell the principle. He went home, but before he went home he said some really mean things to the teacher. Burris waited for Miss. Caroline to cry and then left. That was really means of Burris he should off never done that and he should have respect to the teacher. I will never do that to the teacher, because my parents showed me how to respect.

  1. Marrium this was a good post. However, this is more like a summary and less like a reflection. I would have first given a short paragraph summary on what happened to Miss Caroline and Burris and then I would write one or more paragraphs on how you feel about how he acted.
