Chapter 26-27summary

in chapter 27, there are some things that have happened to some of the people in Maycomb. Bob Ewell lost his job, because he was too lazy and is now only relying on his well fare checks that he gets once a week. Bob Ewell blames three people for this, and for embarrassing him in court. Tom, was the evidence that shows that Mayella had a romantic relationship meaning Mayella broke a social code. Because she broke this code, she made her family look even more less equal. another person is Judge Taylor. He proved that bob was left handed, and had already thought that he was guilty of abusing Mayella. On a Sunday night, Judge Taylor, heard a noise coming from the back porch, so he went to examine it. He only saw a shadow of the perpetrator. Everyone thinks that it was Bob Ewell because he has a grudge against Taylor. Atticus, is however not afraid of Bob, because he is a coward. He left the Taylor's house, because there was someone there, and was only going to break in if there wasn't anyone there. This shows that he doesn't have the guts. Another way that shows that he is a coward, is when Helen is walking past his house, he walks 15 feet behind her, calling her names and using foul language. He then stops when someone else has the guts to stand up to do something right besides Atticus, is Mr. Link Deas. He tells Bob that he will have him arrested for the ladies Law. In the end of Chapter 26, Scout makes the connection, that i hadn't made yet. She connects her teach being a hypocrite. her teacher says that she hates Hitler, because he is persecuting the Jews for no reason. But the white people in the south are doing the exact same thing. sure they may not be killing them and putting them in camps, but they are segregating them and are persecuting them in justly in the court of law, were all should be treated equal. Now Scout over hear her teach outside of the court house say that Tom got what he deserved. But he didn't deserve anything, because he wasn't guilty. All of the evidence pointed to not guilty. chapter 26 show just how blind people are. Th think that segregating the African Americans, is okay, because it has been a second nature to them, for their whole lives. But when something this drastic happens to two different white cutlers, it is completely wrong.  Image result for tkam quotes

  1. Taya, this is a very good blog post. You did a stupendous job describing the scenes of both chapters 26 and 27. You not only talked about the straight forward stuff, but you also talked about the concepts that you have to think more about. For instance, you talk about how Bob harasses Helen (which is the straight-forward part) and then you talk about how Bob is a coward for this. Overall great job taking your time with this, as I imagine you did.
