Atticus is the Best at What he Does

In chapter 18 we get more of a look into how good of a lawyer Atticus really is. When Miss Mayella goes to the stand Atticus's questions slowly progress into what completely destroys the story Mayella was trying to make up. The story Mayella made up is that Tom beat her, but in reality her dad beat her. when asking Mayella questions he drew a picture of Mayella's home life into the jury's head. Atticus was starting to how that the family's well fare check wasn't even close to big enough to support the family and how it was already suspected that her father drank it up, just showing how dangerous her father could be. He also exposed her on how she, at first, said she couldn't remember anything, but now that he was starting to get the case his way she made up specific details from the situation. Getting to the end of the cross examination, the judge is already badgering her and obviously Atticus is badgering her too, he then gets Tom to stand up and when he does the Jury, and most of the courtroom realized something huge. What they realize is that Tom's left arm is crippled and there is no way he could have beat her with his left arm. When this happens Mayella puts the pieces together and realizes her credibility is gone. When she realizes this she stops answering questions and obviously doesn't answer when Atticus asks if her father was who beat her not Tom. After i read this I was just amazed with how well the cross examination went, for Atticus at least. As it progressed I started to realize more and more how smart Atticus is, so I just have one thing to say, well played Atticus well played. Image result for clapping gif

  1. Good job, Nate,
I really liked that you summarized the chapter 18, and then added your idea about it. I am amazed also at how smart Atticus is. I would have liked to see more of your opinion because it was a really big chapter.
    Good job
