The Ghost Goat...

In chapter 7 we hear that Jem and Scout go back to school. Scout doesn't like 2nd grade. She is not learning anything. Jem however has been particularly quiet. He is still in the past with the incident on the last day of summer. Ever sense school started, Jem has been needing to tell Scout something, but doesn't have the courage. Also they have been finding things in the knothole that may be quite valuable.

I have a connection to Jem and Scout where they are so happy to find something. My siblings and I live near a park, and we go there alot, and one time something very exciting happened. My cousins came over when I was a first or second grader one night. I have a cousin who is a few days younger than me, and together we can solve anything. (according to our parents we are the "Wonder Twins", and we work really well together.) Anyway, we went to the park that night, and we found a slip of paper in the slide. It was like an erased note, and the letters were scrambled. We worked for hours figuring it out, and we finally got it.

After adding some letters, and looking around the park for more clues, we found out that the note said "ghost goat" on it. We looked around, and saw that the sewer at the park had the same letters in the same order as the note, but not the letters that we added. We got down and listened to the sewer for awhile. Then I heard it. We heard a laughing type sound in the sewer. We were freaked out. We went back to the park, and there was nothing there. We were really freaked out, and we headed back to my house, and tried to piece together everything that happened.

We looked there the next day, and there was nothing there. We tried looking for more things, but still today the ghost goat sewer is at the park, and we still do not no what happened. This reminds me of Scout and Jem because they found lots of things by there house, and had to piece them together, and couldn't find out who it was. That was the same way with my cousin and I.  I hope to find out what happens to the tree, and what more they will find, but still today the ghost goat is still there...

  1. I like your blog, the way you connect yourself with the story is very interesting. Through your story, I can see that there are some similarities between your story and Jem and Scout's story. I agree with you that when Jem and Scout find many things in the knothole but they don't know who is the person put it in.

  2. I was really scared when you said that you heard laughs from the sewer. If i was there, I would have ran all the way home with out looking back. This story really does connect with what we were reading last night, because just like you and your cousin, Jem and scout wanted to dig deeper into what is going on. Great job. VOTE FOR TAYA!!!!

  4. Ellie I really liked your connection to jem and scout. It was a really exciting story and was interesting. It was a scary tale packed full of adventure. I think it's pretty funny that the message unraveled into ghost goat. If the ghost goat ever become a problem I suggest that you hire a butcher.
