CHISME?

Boo Radley is a character in our book that is feared. There is a ton of gossip and rumors about him that may or may not be true about him. He is rarely ever seen and is rarely out of the house. I can sometimes relate to this. Back in sixth and fifth grade, I used to almost never go out of the house. I played video games all day. I stopped after realizing that doing so would affect my grades. We still have no idea why Boo is always in his house. I am very excited to find out why.
One of the rumors about him was that he stabbed his dad with a pair of scissors on purpose while he was making a scrap book. After stabbing him, he wiped the blood off of the scissors with his pants and continued his project. Personally, I don think he would do something that bad. Especially since we're given hints that Boo might not be so bad. Another rumor about him is that he eats squirrels and cats raw. Again, this is a bit too farfetched for me to believe. Nobody would do such a thing in real life. The people of Maycomb are just making this stuff up from the top of their heads, in my opinion.
Image result for chisme memeI can't really relate to this because I have never heard any rumors about me, nor have I spread any rumors, thankfully. But, it looks like Jem is trying to spread a rumor of his own. He starts jumping to conclusions pretty fast here. Jem is already making assumptions on how Boo looks like based on his footprints. He says he has rotting teeth, 6.5 feet tall, blood-stained hands. He is comparing Boo to a savage animal. I have never experienced this or witnessed this kind of ignorance.

  1. This was a good blog summary and I like how you related this to yourself in fifth grade. I agreed with your opinion about the rumors spread of boo. I also liked your meme and title here.

  2. I liked your summary. I really like how you titled this chisme, because this truly is chisme, And the worst part about this is that everyone in Maycomb believes it. All of the citizens in Maycomb have some sort of ignorance toward Boo.
